Songwriting Videos

We belong to a family of churches worldwide named 'Regions Beyond' and, over the last year or so, a number of worship leaders and songwriters from different nations around the world have been meeting over Zoom to build relationship and start to write songs together. As a team, we are producing a number of short videos on various topics to do with worship, and I was asked to provide five, 5-minute videos on songwriting.

I really enjoyed spending time considering what I feel is most important to share - things I've learned from my own experiences, and things I've learned from songwriters far more skilled than I! I settled on five subjects: Foundations in Songwriting, Lyrics, Melody, Co-writing and Finishing Songs.

The videos are now available on the Regions Beyond YouTube channel, but I have shared them on my own YouTube channel in case that is helpful. I really hope they are useful! Over the next few days and weeks I will share the text of each video as a blog post, for those who prefer the written word.
